My work is a combination of historical esoteric practices, my personal beliefs, and modern sciences. The most prominent element out of these three are esoteric practices, notably alchemy and astrology. I use these ideas to expand upon the other aspects of my work. A lot of the media I consumed growing up was influenced by these practices and studying them now as an adult shows me how they did. Incorporating these ideas into my work feels like I have come full circle, and I have developed an appreciation for these outdated sciences.

I take advantage of symbols to express any idea I want to communicate in my work. Alongside these symbols, I often add astronomical aspects as well. I am interested in the study of exoplanets, notably their atmospheric compositions and what sort of star system they operate in. My focus in doing so is to create an environment that feels familiar, yet still not earth. This is also inspired by my interest in the sci-fi genre. Another element of my work that I have nurtured is my choice of medium. I have been painting with watercolors for almost a decade now, and I believe the reasoning behind it is its relationship with drawing.

Although my work is technically considered to be painting, I have always felt like I connected more with drawing. My paintings usually start off as a detailed graphite drawing in the first layer, which I then enhance by adding gradual washes. Another medium I believe emphasizes my connection with drawing is the intaglio printing method. Printmaking has opened a whole new facet of how I create my work. Being able to do multiples of a piece and emphasize different parts of it through selective coloring gives me a new way of communicating my ideas.
